Three Decades of Exceptional
Pet Dog Training

I have a love for dogs and for people.
I am lucky to have a career where I can spend time with both! My training experience spans 30 years, using positive reinforcement to help thousands of dogs become well behaved family members.

My love for dogs began as a child. I brought home my first dog when I was 10 years old. She was a black and white retriever mix named Christy.

The dog was all mine, and Mom said I needed to give her lots of exercise, so it was frisbee and backyard obstacle courses every day after school. I was hooked!

I went to college for Biology and worked as a scientist for a pharmaceutical company. Although I loved that job, I knew I really wanted to work with animals. I began by assisting an established dog trainer and observing her methods. A short time later, I left the pharmaceutical field to become a full time dog trainer. After several years working in an established dog training school, I started my own business. I have offered my unique brand of positive reinforcement pet dog training since 1996.

As a wife and a mom, I understand the everyday curveballs life throws at you. And then you add a dog on top of it! I understand how embarrassing it can be to take a dog that pulls and barks on a walk. I understand how frustrating it can be to own a dog that doesn’t get the idea of going to the bathroom outside. I understand how scary hosting dinner party becomes, anticipating the dog jumping and over reacting to guests.

I Understand.

I am very much a “people person”. There is nothing more rewarding than helping families train their four legged friends to be easier to live with.
I can relate to your situation because I have been there myself, and will communicate positive solutions that owners and dogs will enjoy and benefit from. Together, I am confident that we can handle any furry challenge.

I am here to help!

WHY POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT?

Positive reinforcement rewards desired behavior with treats, praise, or play, making dogs more likely to repeat them. This method builds trust and strengthens the bond between dog and owner, promotes faster learning, and reduces fear or anxiety compared to punishment-based techniques. It encourages confident, well-behaved dogs who enjoy training and are motivated to cooperate.
